Another interesting Da Lat character, the artist monk Vien Thuc. The only monk in residence at Lam Ty Ni pagoda, he is a very prolific artist. More of a folk artist really, like Howard Finster. Too strange to be of much interest to the Vietnamese, he is mostly famous with foreign tourists. I had heard about him and wanted to have a look. I bought this self portrait from him for $40.
