There wasn't much left of the Coconut prison, apparently a French prison built to house rebelious Vietnamese back in the colonial days. We've all heard of the French Guiana prison made famous by the Papillon book and movie. Apparently the French are experts at cruelty as this barbed wire "thorny wire-net disciplinary cabin" seems to indicate.
