Killing Fields

On the outskirts of Phnom Penh, fifteen kilometers down a dirt road lined with houses are the killing fields of Choeung Ek where the Khmer Rouge brought their prisoners to execute. The victims were usually clubbed in the back of the neck and then their throats were slit. The area is dotted with pits, excavated mass graves. Bone fragments and teeth still litter the ground.
